ÖZ

This study attempts to highlight the reflection and perception of suicide and suicide attempts as well as the historical inclinations of change in these reflections and perceptions, in relation to their perceptions in society in a wider context. To achieve this aim, the study focuses on the news on suicides and suicide attempts that were covered in the two decades long periods of two newspapers, Cumhuriyet Newspaper in between 1929 and 1989, and Hurriyet Newspaper in between 1948 and 2008, as well as the issues of the Newspaper Son Posta, which were published in the first (1932) and last years (1962) in which the newspaper published.
